Polymer Tungsten (also known as Tungsten-filled Polymer) is a composition of various resins and Tungsten powder which are mixed through special metallurgical technology. The resins can be ABS (acrylonitrile butadiene styrene), PP (polypropylene), PBT (polybutylene terephthalate), PA (polyamide), PU (polyurethane), and TPE (thermoplastic elastomer), etc. It鈥檚 an ideal substitute of lead for radiation protection.

Application: The tungsten polymer is utilized in many shielding applications, such as medicines, nuclear energy, aerospace, X-ray protection, and the sports.

It keeps its form during use and can be used in many applications: such as X-ray equipment, CT scanning devices, tungsten poly syringe and tungsten poly collimator, to name a few.
Tungsten Polymer provides lead free, nontoxic engineered thermoplastics for x-ray and gamma ray shielding applications, helping device manufacturers meet industry and health standards while overcoming regulatory concerns.
There are three factors which determine the amount of radiation received from a source: 1) time of exposure; 2) distance from source; and 3) shielding. Based upon the application, we optimize shielding by designing the material density and wall thickness to deliver the level of shielding the customer requires at the optimal price point. Utilizing a composite of tungsten powder in a polymeric matrix, T&D lead free radiation shielding materials provide device manufacturers and material processors with a completely lead-free, injection-moldable thermoplastic solution to overcome all regulatory concerns and satisfy radiation shielding needs. Moreover, our engineered x-ray and gamma ray shielding compounds are price competitive with other lead-free shielding materials.
Poly-tungsten is more durable than other lead substitutes and offers equal or better radiation-shielding capabilities in electronic and electrical products.
