Doreen Bell, an 89-year-old retired office manager and widow, has had a life filled with adventure and creativity. She was born and raised in Dyess, Arkansas, and married a sailor, spending almost two decades traveling and living at various posts. Doreen, a lifelong fan of gardening, needlework, and science fiction, turned to writing after her vision problems forced her to give up her other hobbies.
