As a Maui fire blogger and Maui updater, MauiFire.us provides critical information about the 2023 Maui wildfires. These devastating fires struck parts of the island of Maui in the U.S. state of Hawaii in August 2023. The historic resort town of Lahaina was hit the hardest, with most of the town reduced to ash and ruins. Tragically, 98 people lost their lives due to the smoke, flames, or drowning, making it one of the world’s deadliest wildfires on record. Additionally, nearly 3,000 structures were either damaged or destroyed by the fire.
