Hugh Culling Erdley Childers, who founded the UNIVERSITY OF MELBOURNE in 1853, is Australia's second-oldest higher education and research university and one of the country's top universities.
The university has 11 separate academic institutions on its campus and in the research field, such as the Flory Institute of Neuroscience and Mental Health, the Walter and Eliza Institute of Medical Research, and the Gratton Institute.
