McMinnville, affectionately referred to as "Mac" by locals, is located in the heart of Oregon's wine country and is known for its beautiful vineyard vistas and large number of wineries (250 within a 20-mile radius). Many weekend tourists come from neighboring Portland and Salem to enjoy the town's finest restaurants, boutique shopping, historic theaters, and art galleries.

"The walkability of the town is exceptional, dordle and you will soon feel that there is a true sense of community that blends nicely with the old and the new," Devri Doty, principal broker at Windermere Real Estate/Luxury Portfolio International, said. "Mac has a lot of great neighborhoods and isolated enclaves where people like to live. Mac offers everything from historic houses near to the center of town to small farms on the outskirts for those who want a more rural lifestyle. She went on to say that houses on the east side are often more historic, while those on the west side are more likely to be of the bungalow or mid-century modern kind.

While Charleston, with its historic architecture and world-class dining scene, may be South Carolina's most recognized tourist destination, there is no lack of gorgeous and intriguing locations to call home in the Palmetto State.

In 2022, South Carolina added about 90,000 additional citizens, making it the third-fastest expanding state in the US. So, why are so many people relocating to this area?

Numerous people are drawn to the area because to its favorable climate, cheap cost of living, plenty of economic possibilities, and diverse landscape (including the Blue Ridge Mountains, a beautiful coastline, and numerous lakes). The region's rich cultural heritage and renowned warmth also contribute to its popularity among immigrants. Columbia is the beating center of the Palmetto State. Congaree National Park and Lake Murray are just two of the many beautiful natural attractions accessible to inhabitants of this conveniently located city in the geographic center of South Carolina. Recently, the city was rated one of the top 10 housing markets set for growth in 2023 and the second most popular among Generation Z.

"Factor in a pleasant climate, award-winning local restaurants, lively craft beer and music scenes, and a spirited festival schedule, and the popularity of Columbia is no surprise to those of us who live there," said Jill Moylan, owner and broker at Home Advantage Realty, to Travel+Leisure, noting that Columbia's youthful energy is boosted by its many universities.

A cheap cost of living and reasonably priced housing may both be found in this area. The typical home price in the city is $216,536 (Zillow), and there are plenty of parks and other recreational options for locals to enjoy.

Columbia has 56 tennis courts, 14 golf courses (or 20, if you count those within 20 miles), 650 miles of shoreline on Lake Murray for boaters, and areas set aside for hunting, fishing, and equestrian pursuits, according to Bhavna Vasudeva, a broker with Daniel Ravenel Sotheby's International Realty.
