As coaches, we were constantly instructed to eat one gramme of protein for every pound of body weight, which meant I would need to eat 155 grammes daily. According to several research, MPS increases when dietary intake reaches 1 gram/lb of body weight. You do not experience increased MPS if your body weight exceeds 1 gramme per pound. Consequently, it is believed that this is the maximum amount of protein that can be consumed in order to optimise muscle growth.
