The Myopia Clinic
Dr. Ng’s son was diagnosed with high myopia at just three years old. Aware of the serious eye diseases linked to this condition, Dr. Ng searched tirelessly for treatments to slow its progression. Yet, visit after visit to leading specialists brought the same discouraging message: there were no treatments available.
This made his journey into myopia control deeply personal. At the time, very little was understood about managing childhood myopia. Despite every effort, his son’s condition worsened, eventually requiring multiple surgeries and resulting in permanent vision loss.
Now an adult, his son lives with mild vision impairment. One heartfelt comment from him continues to fuel Dr. Ng’s passion:
“I live with the fact that tomorrow I might lose my sight. You need to help as many kids as possible avoid what I go through every day.”
Dr. Ng’s mission is clear: to help as many children as possible avoid the dangers of high myopia and protect their sight for the future.
