Iran University of Medical Sciences (IUMS) is one of Iran's major public medical universities, established in 1974 in Tehran near Milad Tower, the sixth tallest tower in the world. Since 1986, the university has been under the administrative jurisdiction of the Ministry of Health and Medical Education for all academic activities.

 

It is one of the most popular academic healthcare facilities in the country and region. Its students are ranked in the top 1% of Iranian students in nationally ranked university entrance exams. In Tehran, the university has ten schools (Advanced Technologies in Medicine, Nursing and Midwifery, Public Health, Health Management and Information Sciences, Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, Rehabilitation Sciences, Medicine, Allied Medical Sciences and Medicine and Pharmacy.
