I visited India for the first time recently. Rajasthan was a lovely place to travel. But things weren't always easy on this trip.

I have to confess that much of the blame lies with us. We certainly experienced that this trip to Rajasthan was one of our least well-prepared vacations ever. We often plan out every last detail of our trip plans, including the places. We lost track of our travel preparation because we were both having a very busy time.

We gained a lot of knowledge about road trips in Rajasthan, India, as they say, "learning by doing." I'd like to share some of the lessons I learned during the Rajasthan tour in this blog post.

Jaipur

One of the most beautiful cities in Rajasthan is Jaipur, which is a great addition to any travel plans there. It is also a crucial component in India's Golden Triangle Tourist Route.

The pink city of India is another nickname for Jaipur. This is as a result of the town's historic district's pink-painted buildings. As part of his tour of India, the Prince of Wales was scheduled to visit the city in 1876. Pink being the colour of hospitality at the time, therefore Maharaja Sawai Ram Singh, the ruler of Jaipur, painted the entire city in that hue.

The most spectacular forts, museums, grand palaces, stunning architecture, and heritage sites can be found in this lovely city today. This is what draws visitors to the city from all over the world. In fact, you may also book a room at a stunning heritage hotel, which is typically a former royal family mansion or palace in India.

For individuals who want to stock up on the regional ethnic Indian goods, the city is ideal. either to use as home décor or to bring home as gifts for friends and family.

Jodhpur

For the first time ever, I recently travelled to India. The state of Rajasthan was a beautiful location to visit. But on this journey, things weren't always simple.

I have to admit that we are mostly to blame. This trip to Rajasthan was undoubtedly one of our least well-prepared holidays ever. We frequently meticulously prepare every aspect of our travel itinerary, even to the locations. We were both so busy that we lost track of the planning for our trip.

As they say, "learning by doing," we learned a lot about road journeys in Rajasthan, India. In this blog article, I'd like to discuss some of the things I discovered while on the Rajasthan tour.

This architect was responsible for using limestone in the construction of the city, which helped to keep the inside of the homes cool. But regrettably, the limestone's white hue ended up drawing different insects. He then utilised that to overlay the exterior facade, adding indigo to the limestone to block that. Insects were kept at bay and the homes stayed cool thanks to this.

The city offers several lovely places to see, including one of the state's loveliest forts and a locally famous step well that has been restored.

Udaipur

The city of lakes and palaces is Udaipur. This makes it one of the most romantic places in the region and a great place to visit if you're planning to travel to Rajasthan soon.

The city palace, the current home of the royal family of Udaipur, is the main draw of the area. A portion of the city palace has been turned into a museum for the general public. You can go to the museum to look at the many antiques, photos, and other artefacts owned by the royal family.

During your trip to the regal metropolis, you might also stop by some of the state's most stunning lakes. The four lakes in Udaipur that are regarded as being the most beautiful are Lake Pichola, Fateh Sagar Lake, Udai Sagar, and Swaroop Sagar. These lakes shouldn't be missed.

Jaisalmer

Jaisalmer, the city at the entrance to the vast Thar desert, should unquestionably be a stop on any vacation to Rajasthan. It is often referred to as Rajasthan's Golden City. This is due to Jaisalmer's central city being entirely made of yellow sandstone, giving the area a yellowish-gold appearance.

The only live fort in the state is located in the city. This indicates that many individuals still call the fort home today. You might even spend the night inside the fort's walls in one of the many hostels and hotels. Other than that, Jaisalmer offers a wide range of entertaining activities and sights.

The city is also the ideal location to sample the regional bhang. A classic beverage made with cannabis, honey, and spices is this one. Right outside the fort, there is a government-approved store where you can sample this traditional beverage.

Pushkar

South of Jaipur is the peaceful, holy town of Pushkar. It is a well-liked pilgrimage site in the region. For the most of the year, the city doesn't attract the same kind of tourists that the other cities in the state do. Therefore, it is the ideal stop for travellers visiting Rajasthan who are looking for some downtime. Due to this, the city is well-liked by travellers who have been travelling for months.

But if you go to the city in October or November, you can find something entirely different. The Pushkar Camel Fair is organised by the city throughout these months for a few weeks. Every year, the city hosts an ancient, traditional Indian festival. It is the ideal addition for those who want to experience a little of traditional Indian culture while they are in the region.

The Pushkar market is also the ideal location to browse for all those ethnic trinkets and purchase Indian gifts to bring back home.

Bikaner

For your forthcoming vacation to Rajasthan, Bikaner is another off-the-beaten-path destination. The Great Indian Desert conceals the city. As a result, the city sees less visitors than the other Rajasthani towns in the state. It is also the ideal place to stop if you want to visit the Thar Desert without having to deal with the huge numbers of tourists that Jaisalmer experiences. From the town of Bikaner, you may take camel and jeep safaris into the Thar Desert.

The fort and the town's historic core are the primary draws here. One of the nation's most distinctive temples is located not far from the city. Over a thousand rats are kept as pets by believers at the Karni Mata rat shrine. Instead of being chased away, the rats are fed and cared for. In actuality, followers think that feeding the rats will bring them luck.

Mount Abu

The only hill station in the entire state of Rajasthan is Mount Abu. It is 1220 metres above sea level where it is located. The town has year-round pleasant weather, making it the ideal summer retreat from the state's oppressive heat. Due of this, residents of the state and Gujarat, the neighbouring state, frequently travel to the city.

The city was well-liked by the state's British overlords as well. They fell in love with this hilltop town and relocated the administrative centre of their political Rajputana agency there from Ajmer.

There are a few interesting things to see in the city if you choose to include this town on your itinerary for your vacation to Rajasthan. The Nakki Lake is well known and popular for a variety of water activities. The city is also home to a number of exquisite Jain temples with magnificent architecture. A must-visit location while in the city is the sunset point, which is also extremely well-known.

Ajmer

One of the oldest cities in the state of Rajasthan is thought to be Ajmer. The city is close to the town of Pushkar and is situated south of Jaipur. The lovely Anasagar Lake is engulfed in it. The city is also regarded as the most significant location in terms of the state's islamic heritage and history.Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti's shrine is located in the city of Ajmer. One of the most significant Muslim pilgrimage sites in the nation is here. From the cities of Jaipur or Jodhpur, the city is the ideal day trip.

Ranthambore

In the northern region of Rajasthan, there is a sizable wildlife reserve called Ranthambore National Park. It is one of the best spots in the nation to see a Tiger in the wild because it is home to Tigers, Leopards, and marsh Crocodiles. The vast Ranthambore Fort can be found in the park. It is a sizable fort that is home to numerous ruins Hindu temples. The Padam Talao Lake, which is located within the park and is well-known for the abundance of water lilies it supports, is also housed there.
