                  The Queen’s Theatre is one of the most popular London West End theatres on Shaftesbury Avenue. In the year 1907, the theatre made its debut as a twin to the neighbouring Hicks Theatre (now renamed as the Gielgud Theatre). W G R Sprague designed the Queen’s and the Gielgud. The theatre was originally going to be stated as the Central Theatre. The theatre was eventually stated as the Queens Theatre.

                  Due to direct hit by a bomb in September 1940, the façade and lobby of the theatre were destroyed. For almost two decades, the theatre remained closed and underwent refurbishment with modernised exterior. The auditorium remained as Edwardian décor. In the year 1959, theatre was reconstructed in July 1959 with John Gielgud’s solo performance in Shakespeare speeches and sonnets, Ages of Man.

                  Palace theatre hosted the show for almost 18 years and transferred to the Queen’s Theatre in the year 2004. On 8th October, the musical celebrated its 20th anniversary at the venue and went on becoming the longest running musical of all time.

The epic tale of passion and destruction is set against the backdrop of bloody French revolution.

                            The hugely commercial blockbuster has been enjoyed by theatre lovers from all over the world and still thrilling the audience with its magnificent performances. Les Miserable’s is about a convict Jean Valjean who has been released from prison after two decade for stealing silver. The spectacular musical features some chartbusting musical numbers such as "Who Am I", "A Little Fall of Rain", "One Day More", "Bring Him Home" and, one of the most famous songs to come from the West End, "I Dreamed a Dream".

                            In the year 1980, Palais des Sports hosted the first musical-stage adaptation of Les Mis. The award winning stage musical also acted as an inspiration for a live action musical movie which starred  Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe, and Anne Hathaway in her Oscar-winning role in the year 2002.
