Usually, when your baby is six weeks old, you won't be able to see much of its features. As long as the foetal pole or gestational sac is visible during an ultrasound, it should be possible to determine gestational age. Even though the baby's heartbeat can be heard with a 6-week ultrasound, it's not always possible to hear it.
