No Fear - Deuteronomy 31:6

No Fear - Deuteronomy 31:6

“Be strong. Take courage. Don’t be intimidated. Don’t give them a second thought because God, your God, is striding ahead of you. He’s right there with you. He won’t let you down; he won’t leave you” Deuteronomy 31:6 (MSG).

Sometimes we allow fear to dominate our lives, keeping us from fully fulfilling our God-given purpose; we mistakenly allow the devil’s whispers of doubt to creep into our thoughts and begin to build an impenetrable wall, a wall that keeps us from God.

Throughout the Bible, God calls us to shake off fear, to give it to Him, to step out in faith and to live a strong and courageous life. Today’s text is about living the victorious life that God has planned for us. I love this verse because it gives me permission to step into any situation in my life with confidence, a confidence that God, my God, is striding ahead of me, a confidence that He’s right there with me, a confidence that He will never let me down, a confidence that He will never leave me.

And knowing that God is walking with me not only gives me confidence, it also gives me a little swagger in my step, a sashay in my stride, a saunter in my gate, because the God of the universe is striding ahead of me, the God Who commands the wind and the waves is walking by my side, the God Who put the stars in their place is my constant companion—my faithful friend. So, why shouldn’t I say to the world: “I am ready to take on the day, because God is walking with me.” Why should I shout out: “Bring it on! I’m ready, because God is right here with me.” Why shouldn’t I be strong? Why shouldn’t I take courage? Why shouldn’t I be courageous? Because God, my God, is on my side. He’s right here with me. And He’ll never let me down, He’ll never leave me.
